Photographs, like paintings are believed to originate in, and act as a locus of,
an external, verifiable reality.
In actuality, photographs and paintings originate in an internal necessity or dialogue,
and negotiate their way into existence by the skill of the artist photographer to
mediate the urgency of the heart, mind or intellect into visibility.
All photographs, all paintings are therefore abstract entities.

I. Blue series: ‘Flow’: 8” x 19”.
II. Red series: ‘Flow’: 11” x 23””.
Most would identify these as abstract works. I would not. They originate in the verity
of my reaction to colour, and in the plastic nature of the medium.
Any viewer sensing the presence of Robert Ryman or Ad Reinhardt would be accurate
in their perception.
